The deliciouslyorkshire awards shortlist has recently been released – the winners will be announced on Monday 8th November 2010, at Rudding Park in Harrogate. You can view the full shortlist here, but congratulations to the following Sheffield companies nominated:
Yee Kwan ice cream is nominated 3 times:
- Innovation award 2010-2011
- Dairy, for their mango sorbet (is that actually a dairy product??) and also their black sesame seed ice cream.
I really like Yee Kwan’s green tea and chocolate and chilli ice creams, but haven’t yet tried the black sesame seed flavour – next on my list!
The Yorkshire Crisp Company are nominated for the deliciouslyorkshire Export Award 2010-2011, for companies successfully selling their products overseas. Their Hendos flavour is a pretty regular fixture in our house.
Finally, the Girl with the Golden Cup (based in Attercliffe) is nominated in drinks for the Wrath Blend Tea – part of their selection of seven deadly teas.
Since they sneak into the S postcode, I’ll give a quick mention too to Round Green Farm at Worsbrough, nominated in Fresh Meat for their venison liver.
Looking over the winners from the last couple of years, I couldn’t see any Sheffield companies that I recognised, so let’s hope they get some recognition this time round.
